“You have a brain in your head, feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” This quote by dr.suess is explaining that no matter where you start it's your choice to decide what you wanna do with your life and where you wanna go. My cultural identity is homemade because my family always makes their own materials from scratch instead of copying and taking an idea. Which is illustrated by homemade cinnamon rolls, my culturals arrowheads, and my favorite movie suicide squad.

An arrowhead is a small rock that the indians shaved / carved down into a pointed arrow. Its small. No bigger than a quarter. It can cut something if you get it sharp enough. Indians use to do it to kill things. That's the “bullet” indians use to kill their prey. They put the arrowhead in their bow n arrow. Some people still use them to this day. You can find them in some rivers up north. It is important to me because my family and I are indian. We have a tradition that every time we go up there we all try to find three or more in the lake. I love when I find them because I get a story out of each one every time. Arrowheads are an important part of my culture and identity. Suicide Squad, one of, my favorite movies reveals my cultural identity. In the movie, one of the main characters, Harley Quinn, wants to be bad with her boyfriend the joker, but the government stands in her way. The joker comes up with a master plan. Deadshot another character makes you think about your words. Suicide Squad is my favorite movie because of the characters. The characters make you want to have the movie come to life. They are all funny and friendly. It reminds me of my family. We all act like all the main characters. Watching Suicide Squad connects me to my core

I wish I could open by saying I was surprised by the readings and radio broadcasts about interracial marriage but it did not necessarily surprise me. I think it should not matter at all but my family was disowned because my grandfather, a white man, married a Native American woman. It made me sad to hear the woman discussing how her father cut her out of his life because of who she loved and married. Although my family is not racist, my father was while we were younger so when my sisters would date people of any color my dad would make comments about how he hoped they didn't marry, (although his children are brown ourselves) and it always broke my heart that people are judged on who they love solely based on how they look or what culture…

Growing up it never occurred to me that there was anything different about my household. I had a mother, a father, an older brother, and a dog. We ate together, played games together, and went to the park together like everyone else. We may have looked a little different and talked a little different but appearances didn’t count so much to me when I was in elementary school. Adults often asked me “what” I was and human or American was never the right answer.…
