Personal Essay: Living A Perfect Life

Decent Essays
Living The Perfect Life At the end of my life I want to be able to look back and think to myself of what a wonderful life that I had. As long as I can do that and remember all the great times that I had, my life will be successful. Life is not about what you do, it is about how you live it and who you experience it with. Everyone’s expectations of a happy life are different and unique in their own ways. What I value most in life is family. I value family the most because without my family I would not be here. Families are people that you can always lean on and trust to have your back in any situation. Without my family, I would not be the strong, independent person that I am today. My plan in order to live a good, long life would be to exercise …show more content…
Whenever I eat healthy, I feel more lively and want to do more throughout my day. Every once in awhile I will have a bad day and eat a lot of junk food. After eating junk food all day long my stomach kills me and all I want to do is lay in bed and sleep. Sometimes, my stomach will even hurt me for multiple days at a time until I eat clean and healthy for a few days after. Every morning no matter what I eat for breakfast, I always have a banana with it. I’m by far no where close to being perfect with eating healthy every day but I try my best and try to mix healthy foods with comfort foods that I love. Eating healthy really is not that hard, starting slow and working your way up is always the best way. At first, just find out what healthy alternative foods that you like and do not like. Anyone can do it, they just have to stick to their plan. One day in the near future, healthy foods are going to be more liked and available my individuals than drive-thru’s and junk food. “This year, the advice to cut back on sugar…may also lead to changes in food nutrition labels” ("New Dietary Guidelines Urge…”). Cutting back on junk food and choosing healthy foods are becoming more and more popular. By changing our diets and eating right, the risk of heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes decrease. Eating right does not just make us look better on the outside but also helps our organs on the inside to work …show more content…
Without my family I would not be here. I would not know what to do without them even though sometimes we get on each other’s nerves. To me family is the people that you not only grew up with but also the people who are always there for you. I know that if I ever needed help from my family, they would always be there for me as much as they could. Before children are entered into school they learn most of what they know from their parents. The first few years of a child’s life are when they become individuals. “Children’s expressive displays of positive emotion are closely correlated with those of their family members” (Bai, et al. 89). From this you can tell that parents and family members are a huge part of how a child will act later in life. Just from smiling and being around a child during their first years of life, you can impact them in a positive way. Child can become more happy, positive, and live a better overall life if they grew up in a house that taught happiness (Bai, et al.). In general, people need to slow down in life and try to cherish all the great times that they have experienced in their lives. Once we are all old and tired we are going to look back and wish that we would of spent more time just enjoying life. Success does not come to those who do not try, it comes to those who work for what they have and understand the true meaning. You only live one life and people

Family is always there to help and to get people through hard times. In the novel Night by Elie Wiesel, family has been important to Elie. In the concentration camp Elie had lost his mom and sisters and only had his father to help him through the hard times. By examining the novel Night we can see that family is the key to survival, which is important because those who don not have family often struggle with many challenges they may face. People usually learn to succeed in life by their parents if they do not have strong role models like that or in their family, they may never know how to survive in the real world.…

My family also supported and encouraged me to do some things that I typically did not do but wanted to. No matter what activity was, my family helped me get whatever I needed and also supported me by showing up at various performances and events. Though this act may seem minuscule, it meant a lot to know that I had people who were proud of me and would always love me no matter if I succeeded or failed. Altogether, I know that without the support of my friends and family, I would not be the person that I am…

According to Lamberton and Minor (2014) self-motivation is essential to the idea of self-direction, which is the ability to set short-term and long-term goals. Both short-term goals and long-term goals are important in life to become successful. I have set certain goals I would like to accomplish in my lifetime; some of these goals are personal while others are professional. A few of my professional goals for the future are to finish my Bachelor’s degree in nursing, find a nursing job in an ambulatory surgery unit, and eventually, apply for a Master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner.…

Although many will try and persuade that what people are seeing isn't real, most of what people see is stored in their memory bank and can be recalled and reimagined. For example in video games like “Call of Duty” and “Grand Theft Auto” people are shot and killed, and with the high tech graphics and televisions that most people use today it is almost impossible to identify a contrast between what is real and what is virtual. PAMF later wrote that “If the games are violent, then the effect is a behavioral rehearsal for violent activity. ”(PAMF 1).…

Eating Healthy Last week when I went to the grocery store, I found that the price of food was a little bit on the expensive side. As I walked through the aisles of the store I heard a voice behind me saying that trying to eat healthy is like a luxury, you know like getting your hair done. You do not need it, but you want it. We both chuckled and parted ways. Then, I started thinking that if I really wanted to eat healthy then it is worth paying the price.…

These days, when we think about healthy eating we tend to think of it as expensive and inconvenient. We are in such a rush to go about our daily lives that we put our health on the wayside. What we don’t think about are the benefits that healthy eating has on our bodies.…

As a child, having rules to follow wasn’t unheard of with my family. There was always a way to behavior with friends/family, at school, at home and out in the street. Often I found myself getting into trouble because I didn 't listen and also the fact that I always found some kind of way to slipping out of having to doing something that I knew I was supposed to do.
