Personal Essay: Life Lessons Learned

Mine isn't really facts but the life lessons that he teaches us. For example tell his players when he is going to make the cut so they only have to be by the phones for an hour and not the whole weekend. That can help me in the future because if I can grow up and become a CFO, as my job I should tell my boss when I am going to be done with taxes. I shouldn't just be like, um yea be around your phone in the next week or so. That will get me fired real quick.

To pass on things that you have learned throughout life. I say this because like the author, he told us things that he did and things that he did no improve and he also took not of things other people said to him or did that he took into consideration. If you can do this with other people

You don't research things that happened about yourself, he right it from personal experiences that you had. He knew that he had an interesting life so he took that into account and made a bibliography so others may read it and get new knolodge from it.

I didn't know him at all coming into the book. I saw the cover and saw football so I thought to my self, hey, this must be about this coach and all the things he did right to win the super bowl. Then I read this first half and I am just loving this book from all the lessons and the sports.

I don't think it would have been this popular. I saw this because there was a lot of good starts back then and I don't think people would want to read this book. I bet once they started they would love it like I do but all in all I think because everything that is happening that they would not read it. Some things that are happening is one of the most famous basketball player micheal Jordan is play and there would be a lot of attention on him. Same thing with the football side of things Joe Mantana was big person in football. Even though the author was a good football player he didn't stand out to those athletes. Even though he was a coach I bet people would look at it and think, Why would I read this when I can go watch Joe

Sports stories are told in many ways with different views of how they come to be. This can be seen in both Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger and in Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy. Both of these books compare and contrast each other in ideas and principles when it comes to football at different levels. Bissinger and Dungy both examine how football is seen differently by people and how football leads to bigger impacts made in society throughout Friday Night Lights and Quiet Strength.…

Spring Break 2014… Helmand Province Afghanistan. A heat comparable to the feeling of opening a hot oven, blisters two Marines as they talk to pass time during their patrol. “Yo Webb, what are you doing when you get out of this shithole country and ‘EAS’ (end of active service)?” asked one, “Well, gonna use my GI Bill, live that college life and make something better of myself…” replied the other Marine as an explosion goes off interrupting them. What is free is not free, someone out there, somewhere, fought for it one way or another.…

Going back over my fifth grade notebooks has not once failed to make me laugh and cringe at my boy troubles and lists of cute boys in my class. I love words. I love reading them, writing them and interpreting them. Through all phases of life, I had a usual nature to try and write my feelings down and call it art, even if it were scribbles on a Post-It note. Same goes for the song stanzas I wrote in seventh grade that were really loosely based on a Taylor Swift song and are still relatable today.…

My grandfather, Vincent Andaloro, has lived an amazing life. As a young boy he lived in the working class town of Everett Massachusetts. My grandfather used the poem “The Road Not Taken” , a piece by Robert Frost, that tells the story of a traveler who must choose which path to take on his journey. One path, is described as worn and perfectly trimmed, white the other is overgrown and unknown. One of his biggest decisions went perfectly with the theme of the poem.…

My experience as a writer has changed throughout the years a lot. Someone always read to my sisters and myself when we asked. Even when they did not read to us, I can remember them reading around us, like when we were on vacation. My parents also got us in reading summer programs through the local library. My boyfriend and I have a daughter who is now ten months old, we try to read to her whenever we can.…

Personal Journey Writing has never been a favorite activity of mine, ever since I was young I found it difficult to put my thoughts down on paper. Possibly because I was always afraid of what people thought about the things I was saying. But the thing that impeded my ability to write the most was my lack of concentration, as soon as I start to write down one of my thoughts I find that my mind quickly starts wandering off to other places. I think it happens because I’m not overly fond of writing, and I’d rather be doing something else than struggling to get my ideas on paper. For me there is a bigger issue than just having the concentration to write an essay, the issue is that for me to write a decent paper I need to have a good amount of knowledge…

The Climb to the Top In the summer of 2011 I went on a big cross-country trip with my uncle. I was excited because I had never gone on a trip this long; but I was also nervous because I had never spent much time with my uncle and didn’t know him very well. We were going to go all the way from Nevada to Minnesota, a 1,700-mile trip to visit my aunt and cousins (his sister and nieces). We started by packing his truck to the brim with supplies.…

Weapons are influence unconsciously almost every one falls victim to them. So you might think to your self how can I possibly defend my self form people using the “weapon of influence” on me. When we talking about the weapon Commitment/consistency to me this weapon is the central motivator for a human behavior. I like to believe that it lies deep within us and is very powerful, it is nearly an obsessive desire to be consistent with what we have already done. The way this weapon of influence work is that once a person has made a decision, choice or a stand that person will encounter internal pressure to behave consistently with that commitment.…
