This didn’t change our design as we already had a major river that would aid in the fracking process. We made the decision to frack because it was a much better alternative to fossil fuels and we would not be polluting our drinking water. Natural gas is also in high demand so by fracking, we have the ability to export the gas to other …show more content…
We also installed scrubbers in our incinerator to decrease the amount of particulate matter and harmful chemicals emitted. These strategies along with large amounts of green space and vegetation significantly cut down on air pollution.
Our waste is disposed of through an incinerator because it is the most effective with a 98% decrease in waste volume, and because it is the most efficient. We also have a recycling center with stream-line recycling and different recycling days for each district of our city. We can improve our waste management by adding a compost center because most of the trash we as people produce is food and can be broken down organically. This will significantly reduce the reamount of waste going to the incinerator.
We use natural gas to generate electricity because our city was build on an abundance of natural gas, and the river allows us to frack without contaminating drinking water. This could become a problem if we ever experience an earthquake as fracking causes cracks to develop in the earth’s
