Personal Essay: Dominican Republic Culture

Lugar maravilloso-Wonderful place. Dominican republic culture brings great intersest to expecially because I’ve never been there. My grandfather was born in Dominican a was raised in New York by his granparents. I was raised speaking fluent Spanish and eating a lot of Spanish food. I moved from a private school to a public school,and over time I lost the ability to speak Spanish. I also lost the liking in all of the Spanish foods.

Dominican republic is a little country located above Venezuela. The population of Dominican today is 10,478,756 ,amd there is about 18,704 square miles long. The capital is santo domingo, and the neighboring ciunty is hati. The climate in Dominican republics climate is hot and really sunny. 15% of people that live in Dominican republic are upper class, 25% are middle class, and the remaning 60% of Dominicans are low calss. There are a lot of poor people living in America today. For example there are children runnimg around the streets naked, and mothers brestfeeding their young ones. There clothing is very different from ours, the people aren’t walking around in disiner outfits. They make every meal from srach, unlike us we are able to buy frozen foods of fast food. At the grocery store there is no frozen food section like there is here, of a five guys. The meals are prepared by the females and a daughter if she is old enough to cook. Crops are very important in the culture of Dominican republic. Some main crops are sugar cane, corn, and coffee is the leading cash crop
