Personal Essay: Digging Up To The Field

I was walking up to the baseball diamond at Hyatt Elementary. I was eating a greasy piece of pizza. I saw the dark clouds in the sky, but I didn’t expect the rain to come, because it was hot and muggy. This is because it was June of 2017. When the game started we (my team and Fenton’s team) sang the “ Star Spangled Banner” on the 1st and 3rd base line. They were blaring it. We went on to the field and started to warm up. Soon as we started to warm up the umpires stopped the game for 30 minutes, because it started to rain. We went to Luke Ladrew’s ( teammate) dad’s house(coach) and waited. After we waited for 30 minutes we went back to the field and started to play the game.
My team was the home team so we had to play in the field first. The 1st player for Fenton hit a homerun. After that we got Fenton to ground

We ended up popping the ball up 3 straight times to end the inning. They felt really bad. The next inning turned out to be the worst we ever had. It was the top of the 6th inning. Our team gave up 5 hits and 5 runs. It was the bottom of the 6th inning. Are best players were up. They popped up the ball 3 times again, but the Fenton team did not catch any of them. Calvin got struckout. Luke hit a ball, but was thrown out at 1st. Jimmy was up (teammate) and he struck out on a bad call by the umpire. We were batting in the bottom of the 7th inning and we felt we could come back and win, because our best hitters were up. That thought ended when the umpires ended the game because they heard thunder and it started to lightly sprinkle. They also didn’t wait because they didn’t want to be playing until 10:00. I started to get tears in my eye, but my coaches said we did not win or lose, because it was never completed. Fenton did not win or lose either even though they were celebrating a championship win and got big trophies. So I went home with little tears in my eyes knowing we did not win or

As I was rounding first I felt my feet sleep out from underneath me, I had fallen flat on my butt. Embarrassment on my face I got up quickly and ran back to first base. Although I was embarrassed I knew I still had to run the bases. A hard ground ball had been hit passed the infield and had moved me over to second base. I was stuck on second at the end of the inning, nobody moved me around.…

It was only a matter of time until Flores gave up a couple hits; the opposing team began to chatter more throughout the game. The chatter did not die throughout the close game, after a full 7 innings played we had lost 2-3; we started to shake the opposing team hands as a ‘good game gesture’. A couple of their players still continued to give Flores a hard time, and he had enough of it. Flores went right up to the kids that were still chattering and got in each others faces. As it got all of our attentions we formed a circle and started to argue with the other team as well as pushing and shoving them.…

One night in the Spring of 2013, I was playing little league baseball in Pinetops, NC. The game was close and it was against our archrivals, the Yankees. My team, the Red Sox, were the best team in the league, and we were determined that we weren’t going to lose to our rivals in one of the biggest games of the year. It was a tied ball game, and one of the players on the Yankees named Levi came up to bat. Levi was a tall, strong, extremely cocky, but I will say, he is a really good baseball player.…

Before I went to the World Series, I thought it was a joke, but I guess not because on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH was where the World Series was. I was more ecstatic than ever going to the World Series. When we got there, we had to choose our seats because it was standing room only(SRO). We chose our seats in foul ball territory, just about 15 feet away from the foul pole in left field. The game started and a country band named “Locash” sang the “Star Spangled Banner”, even fireworks shot up into the air making a crackling sound.…

Some of my successes in life include winning baseball tournaments, getting voted into the allstars in my baseball league, being the youngest kid in colorado to get his license to hunt, and firing a 306 when i was 6 without my arm falling off. My 1st success in baseball was when i was 7 years old and my team was losing the championship game by 2 points, so when i got up to bat there was a guy on 3d base and on 2nd, we already had 2 outs so if i got out we lost the game here. So when i got up to bat i got 2 strikes and the next pitch i hit allowing me to get to 2nd base and my teammates on bases 2 and 3 to get home and score the 2 points we needed to tie the game and go into overtime.…

This I Believe Essay Draft I was 9 years old and my little league team was in the city championship for the second year in a row. We came into the game feeling strong about our team, thinking that nobody could beat us. The first few innings were pretty stress free, a few mistakes here and there but nothing major had happened yet. I believe it was the 3 inning and the score was tied 1-1 when we pulled our starting pitcher out of the game and put in our star pitcher, Duncan. What happened next was unimaginable, they scored 3 runs in a row.…
