Personal Essay: Dealing With Domestic Abuse

If I want to be somebody & I want to go somewhere, you better wake up & pay attention. These are the words that come from a wise attentive woman. My mother the woman who gives me a hard time but will always be there by my side the same way when I was by hers as I watched her cry as I watched my father walk out the door without saying goodbye, because of the handcuffs on his wrist was too tight. I've been dealing with the Domestic abuse my whole life, it happened on the daily year after year I couldn't get the family a child always wanted instead I was shattered at six-years-old who watched her mother cry ?
