Drowning my meals in hot sauce, I didn’t always like it. I’m a competitive person due to my childhood. It all started back in third grade. Boys during at the time were often obsessed with proving who is “stronger”, “tougher” and “better”. Actually, I don’t think much has changed but getting back to the topic, one of the ways they would prove these attributes besides showing who could run faster was seeing who could withstand the monstrosity and heat of spicy substances. They often would eat all the leftovers, though I can understand why. Growing up they didn’t have much access to food and they hate seeing 75% of the food going straight into the bin. It bewilders me how we have not solved world hunger even though we have quite the resources to do so. According to The Natural Resources Defense Council, “As much as 40% of all the food produced in the United States never get eaten”. I for one try to eat as much as I can, though sometimes, I can’t continue eating food my taste buds dislike. I have to be multi-tasking when I eat, whether it is watching a movie, reading a book or surfing the web. This is due to the fact that we spend 4 months of our time in a year sleeping, assuming that the person sleeps 8 hours per day of course. In fact, I’d say that food enhances the enjoyment of these activities. I also try to listen to audio books when on the bus or when I’m walking because it’s a mindless task, just like
