Essay C
While trekking through the Yucatan Peninsula I discovered a primordial chest hidden beneath an alluring waterfall. The chest contained a golden antique artifact resembling a ticket. I soon realized the ticket held celestial powers that allowed the beholder to physically travel through space-time and back. Amazed by the powers I had acquired, I decided to travel back in time to one of my parents darkest moments: their miscarriage. My mission was to travel back in time and save my deceased youngest brother. I held the ticket above my head and recited the chant that was inscripted on the gold platted front. “Mighty Itzamná, I Salvador the human, founder of your ticket summon you. Take me to the summer of 1996.” An electrifying, odious

I walked back to the my house and entered through the front door. I was greeted by my youngest brother, he was a handsome boy, that looked identical to his father. He was smart like his middle brother and in his own way perfect. I addressed my family and professed my love, but I could not find my sister. She was missing from all of the family portraits, and seemed to be forgotten by everyone. I asked my mother where my sister was and she told me that she only wanted and had three kids. I immediately recognized my mistake; I had altered the universal timeline and essentially erased my sister out of existence. Since I saved my little brother he became the third child and parents stopped there. I felt a heavy burden and a sense of doubt and confusion. This was not fair towards my sister, she lived her life happily and I took it away from her for a chance to see my brother. I made the most difficult decision of life; I returned to the past and knew that I had to let my mother go on that trip to Mexico, where my younger brother would meet his demise. I learned that time travel was not meant to be discovered and used so lightly. The decisions I made created a butterfly effect that altered the timeline that I knew. Although it could be useful, I decided to store the relic in the same place I found it. The mystical relic that was onced used by the ancient

With the siblings I’ve been surrounded by and between me and my sister there seems to be a trend of forgetting the past. I know for me and my sister that we can go from rage to love just after a few moments of separation. This comes from love for each other and appreciating our contrasting characteristics; often I think about how I wish I was more like my sister with how patients she is. All Families have struggles some ends is an exaltation of a sibling or the understanding of people's differences. Two plump brown faces peered around the corner at me, their wide brown eyes taking in my pale complexion and straight brown hair. Hearing their giggles I turned and looked up at them before responding with one of the only phrases I knew of the spanish language, “hola” “¿cómo estás?” This caused a panic and they quickly disappeared, laughing to themselves and speaking in a language I had only begun to understand. A few seconds later I could feel their eyes staring down at me again, I quickly shot my head around to stare at them again, this caused them to dart away even quicker before being followed by a uproar of giggles. This experience was something I had grew quite accustomed to in my short time in Guatemala.…

This March, my family and I took a trip to Mexico for vacation. We did many fun things down there such as; parasailing, went on a boat for a day trip, sail boating, went swimming in the ocean, buggy board, sand volleyball, swam in the pool, walked the beach at night, got henna tattoos, a dread in our hair and went to the club with my brother and Emerson. The sand on my feet, the crashing of the waves, people swimming in the ocean, the smell of sunscreen and the wonderful taste of my flamingo drink; Mexico is my kind of place to be. But the first day in particular sticks out to me the most, the day we went parasailing and sail boating. Waking up in the morning in your soft hotel comforter, gives you a great feeling.…

SID: 25647359 Time Travel and Backwards Causation This is a paper about time travel; namely, time travel to the past. On the surface, the concept seems saturated in contradictions and inevitable paradoxes, including backwards causation, the grandfather paradox, or time moving in two ways inconsistent with each other. Much of the confusion and contradictions regarding time travel have led many to conclude that time travel is impossible. I’m going to argue that some of these arguments claiming time travel is impossible can be worked out when we clearly define what we’re talking about.…

For a long time, people have conversed over the existence of time travel. According to David Lewis, time travel is “the discrepancy between time and time” (Lewis 1976). When one time does not equal the other time then, in that case, time has been traveled. Some people believe that time travel is in fact possible, and others believe the idea is absurd and impossible. Those people believe that time travel is impossible present several objections to time travel.…
