Personal Essay All middle school I would get bullied by these 2 girls, they would spread rumors about me and called me the worst things. It’s true that words do really hurt you not only that but start to change you. Every year the bulling got worse till I ended up getting punched at the end of 8th grade. They pushed me to a next level and I told myself, “I had enough.” This experience changed me because I’m not afraid to tell the teacher if I have a problem, I learned to speak up for myself and not let anyone treat me like their servant. In middle school, I was too afraid to tell my teachers if I had a problem with something. My teachers would always see me cry in the hallways and when they would ask me what was wrong I would tell them it was nothing. When 9th grade started I would hear people talk about me during class because I would hang out with some guys I knew in Elementary. I would start thinking about the past and was scared this year would be the same as the years throughout Middle School, so I started isolating myself from everyone. One of my teachers started noticing and asked me why I wasn’t talking with anyone, …show more content…
They spread rumors about me and gave me a nickname “Jehovah girl.” I was in class where a guy asked me what was my religion, I told him I was a Jehovah Witness and he started making fun of my religion saying how it sucks that Jehovah Witnesses don’t celebrate birthdays or holidays. He took it too far when he started telling other people that were annoying for waking up early just to go preaching. I told myself, “No, I’m not going to let this happen again,” and screamed out to him, “Is my religion such a big deal for you? You don’t hear me making fun of you because you’re gay, I respect you and you should do the same with me.” He was so embarrassed because he thought I wouldn’t stand up for myself and then

Journal #3(Elementary School) From the first punch to the final insult, elementary school was by far the worst experience of my life. I remember being physically assaulted all the way back in kindergarten, taking punches from two imbeciles named Anthony and Carmelo. The teacher never did anything to stop the bullying, all she would ever do is tell them they weren't being nice. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that no one would help me; after all, it's human nature to turn the other way when confronted with a conflict.…

As a child, I was a shy and awkward student who wore thick glasses and was often pushed to the side during social interactions. However, as I entered the sixth grade, I finally floated around to the different friend groups, yet I still didn’t feel connected with the people around me. Thus, I shared with a few friends my made-up hand motions which disguised explicit names towards a classmate that many, including myself, disliked. For a while, these “codes” were kept under hushed tones and seemed funny at the time, but the laughter quickly came to an end when I was pulled into the hallway by my homeroom teacher. With each step, my guilt and resentment built up and I finally saw that I had become a grade-schooler’s worst nightmare – a bully.…

I joined my school's cross country team in eighth grade and since then running has made me a much happier person. When I was an elementary school student I was not very athletic, I had a lot of trouble in school, and I didn't have many friends. During recess, when most of the other kids were on the playing structure with their friends, on the basketball court, or playing a game I was usually sitting on one of the benches reading a book. I wasn't bothered at all, but I knew I could have been happier.…

“You won’t amount to anything…you’re too small…you can compete with us”. For my whole life I have been hearing those words from my peers to adults, coaches and the list goes on. During my school career it was a breeze until I got to middle school. Once I hit the sixth grade the name calling and constant judging from the seventh and eighth graders started. However, what really struck me with disbelief was how my “friends” started to treat me, as if joining in on the banter was “cool” and did it to fit in with the older/cooler kids.…
