Norwell is the perfect town. Generally people are kind and polite to each other, we have an active community, the town itself is gorgeous, and everyone here has many opportunities to explore either themselves or the world. The crime rate is very low, in my lifetime I have never felt unsafe in my home, at school, or just walking around town. Norwell is the kind of town that everyone knows everyone and that is how I like it. I find it comforting to be able to recognize people instead of seeing the blank faces of strangers pass by me in the halls at school. We discuss ways that we can better ourselves and how we can help others. Every year we spend a week in another state helping out a community in need. Two years ago I spent a week in Washington DC. We helped the homeless for the whole week. One night we made dinner for a large group of the homeless and sat down and talked to them about their lives. I was alone with 3 men. One was a father who had a wife that worked as a nurse, he yelled at his daughter a lot because she refused to eat. Another man made jewelry and he became homeless due to health reasons. The final man was a long time drug user that called himself Lucifer, he scared off the boy was also supposed to be at my table. Because of this opportunity I received, I was able to better myself by experiencing things that I could never experience in Norwell. I learned how the people got to where they were. That a lot of the time it wasn 't even their fault. On that trip a lot of stereotypes were proven wrong to me. That was an experience I will never
