I was born in Vietnam with love and care. I did not grow up in a big city where time flies fast. Instead, I was raised in a small and peaceful town where I could hear the sound of cicadas when spring comes and feel the heat of The South wind in summer. Therefore, I loved my little country, and I never thought one day I would leave it. Five years ago, I received the news which announced our family would move to the US. My feeling at that time was excited and sad because I would live in the country where everyone wants to live, but I also had to leave my sweet hometown. The movement I came to the USA, I thought my life would be as easy as it used to be in Vietnam. However, I had to face the most challenging in my life which was when I first attended the high school in the USA with a limitation of English skills. This incident …show more content…
The first challenging experience in my high school life was the longest depression. English for a student who never learn it before is difficult, especially English using in science classes. Science makes my life more interesting; thus, it is one of my favorite subjects in my school life. However, it was a nightmare for me when I took Biology class. After five days arriving in the USA, I attended Western High School, which was close to my house. Based on the graduated requirement, my counselor had to put me into Biology class. I thought my English was enough to understand what my teacher would say. Nevertheless, the truth was not like I imagined.
