I joined Phi Theta Kappa for the opportunity to surround myself with like-minded individuals. I was always told that “you are only as good as the company you keep.” I constantly strive to go above and beyond, as well as finding opportunities that help shape me into a better version of myself. My education is not something I take lightly, nor are my obligations to others. I getting to where I am today has been a rough road, my resilience is something that I am very proud of. Overcoming obstacles is something I have a lot of experience with, but it is also something I enjoy helping others get through. I would like to serve as an officer for Chi Omega for the opportunity to contribute to a team, while building leadership skills, and encouraging …show more content…
Attention to details, and time management are my keys to running a successful household while furthering my education and building skills that will help me become successful in my career field. As I mentioned, things in my life haven’t always been easy…and if given the choice, I wouldn’t change anything, simply for the life lessons those challenges taught me. I wouldn’t be writing this today if I didn’t have people in my life that encouraged, supported, and had my back when times were tough. Being an officer, would give me the chance to reciprocate that support and fellowship to others. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, I have the opportunity to help fellow students reach their goals both in and out of the classroom. I only wish I had a better understanding of what Phi Theta Kappa was all about earlier on, because I would have accepted the invitation sooner. Spreading the word about what PTK is all about is something I would love to help with. I would love to talk to you about specific skills that I have that would benefit our chapter. Regardless, if I am chosen to be a chapter officer, I look forward to bringing some fresh ideas to the table, and making new

There is never a day when I don't look at myself in amazement. That is because I am still surprised that I did not quit the Phi Theta Kappa officer team. Even though I keep myself from having emotional breakdowns on campus, there were days I questioned why I am still an officer. If anybody told me that I would be a chapter officer of an internationally proclaimed honor society, I would smile while laughing hysterically in my head. I barely could talk in front of a crowd, let alone lead an entire chapter.…

To achieve this goal I wish to be accepted into Officer Candidate School where I will later graduate with a commission as an Ensign. I believe myself to be of both strong mind and body, and I accredit this to my commitment to my school, my work, and my training. I graduated top ten percent of my class in High School and Magna Cum Laude in college and I continually try to increase the diversity of my knowledge so to become a better rounded person. I majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice and minored in Psychology, so through convention teaching methods I have gained a firm grip in the Social Sciences; however, its through my work experience that I have really grown.…

National Honor Society (NHS) is built upon four key values (scholarship, character, leadership, and service), and I think that I exemplify all four of these values, as I show them through my contribution to the club now and as I will show them through my future officer position of secretary; due to the fact that I exhibit these qualities, I will also be able to leave NHS better than I found when I leave the club in the future. NHS has offered lots of service opportunities since I have joined the club, and it offers a challenging experience for the top students in the sophomore through senior classes; fifty hours must be completed by the end of the year for returning members, and fifty hours must be completed by the next school year for new members. The club ultimately instilled in me important and very useful life qualities. The service activities that must be completed improve my work ethic and ability to work in groups with others, and they also help me get involved more with my community. As a future officer, I would be a great example for members because I have all the qualities needed to be a great NHS leader, allowing me to contribute to NHS as much as I can and to also mold future members to be like myself.…
