I think it is important as an educator that we take the time to know how students and know their strengths and their weakness, I think going over and beyond for them showing them that you care and actually taking the time out each class to work with them indivuallay just putting in over time so they can understand and learn. Making sure they can hear me I think speaking clearly will help them also using the clear pronunciation, I also think learning about them will help me to know their weakness for example, if I have a student who has had problems in the past with reading that will let me know I need to work over time to help my ELL with reading plus other things. I also think being visual as possible is important the reason begin they might not understand how the “cow jumped over the moon” showing them pictures or videos will help them with concepts and other things as well. Having a routine I think is very important that is helping them incorporate daily habits for example, everyday starting the class off by taking attendance, or reading a book to them I think having structure is very important for them. Also calling my ELL Student by their name , names are important that is who they are and that will show them you are trying to get to know them and …show more content…
Also if I ever come in contact with an ELL in my class I will make it a priority to learn their culture and their backgrounds so that I can better accommodate my students as well as their parents and so they I won’t do anything to disrespected them or their culture. This is definitely make sure I do this for all of my students because I think that it important for me and the parents to have a relationship so we can both help the student learn at school and at home. I want to always encourage students to do their best and be the best and that they can do anything they to their mind to. As becoming an educator you may come across some co-workers that may like you or that do not want to get to know you I do believe getting to know your peers is important but I have a firm believer of keeping to yourself and knowing a few people that is something I want to work on myself. Overall, I think consulting with people in the outside world like mentors or family and friends who are in the same profession as you, just asking them what I can do better. How can I teach them this? Like I was saying in the beginning you are going to always learn new things every day and you may think you know everything
