QUESTION ONE
As a child with an interesting background, I bring an understanding and appreciation of diversity. My mother is a Russian immigrant who moved to America in her early twenties. Because of this, I have grown up to be a very accepting and tolerant person. On top of this, I moved to Wisconsin from an hour south of Chicago in the tri-city area of Kankakee County. It was a township with 40,000 people and was incredibly diverse, with many people moving down there from Chicago. I want to go to Milwaukee partially because it holds a …show more content…
As time went on, however, I continued to take on more and more classes and thought that I could get away without doing much in terms of homework. By my junior year, I was barely staying afloat and things at home were starting to take their toll on me. My brother was dealing with his own issues, and my parents were fighting with each and me. So I continued to let my grades slip. That wasn’t a good choice, but I was at that point just trying to keep myself afloat. I realized at the end of the year though, that I couldn’t continue to just do that. I had to try harder to make sure that I turn in all of my homework and actually learn the material so that I can know it for longer than the test. I have to be able to try in more than just my college level and AP classes. And I’ve been doing that this year. I have an A in AP Statistics, which hasn’t happened for me in a math class since middle school. I’m doing all of my homework and staying on top of it so that I don’t have missing
