Personal Devices In High School

Decent Essays
In my opinion as a student, I do think that personal devices should be used in the high school classroom. There are many benefits that come along with the use of those devices, such as not having to carry those heavy books around with you. I believe that students should be allowed to have a cellphone fat certain times of the day for their own personal use. I feel if kids had their phones with them at school it could help them stay safe in multiple situations and could help them communicate with their family if they don't have an other methods to do so. In certain situations having a phone nearby for your use could be quite useful, in situations like lockdowns and such because of a hurricane, earthquake, etc. you could use the phone to communicate with your parents and inform them about what happened and tell them that you're okay and you could also use it to call for help in case of an emergency.…

Clay Shriky is right to ban laptops and smart phones in his classroom. If students are always on their smart phones they don’t learn anything. How do we expect the United States to stay a super power in the future, if the students aren’t absorbing anything now in their lectures? Every teacher should ban smart phones and laptops because if we don’t learn how to control our usage of technology in the classroom, our country will take a dive bomb on the rankings of global education.
