Have you ever wanted your parents to just let you be and live life? Well, this is personal independence. Many people take personal independence for granted. People don't understand how much goes into personal freedom. Personal freedom requires taking responsibility for your actions and being aware of consequences that may come.
People tend to not realize that personal independence requires a lot of responsibility.
When you go out on your own, you need to be able to provide and support yourself, especially, if you are trying to support a family. Parents will not always be around, so teens will not be able to go back to their parents all the time. Furthermore, parents will not be able take the blame or help you out of a sticky situation. However, if teens were more aware of how much of an endangerment that they are causing, not only to themselves, but others; they may tend to drive more safely. Furthermore, if a teen gets caught doing illegal actions, they will most likely get sent to jail. Indeed, by making teens more aware of actions that are illegal and can get them sent to jail or even killed, they may be more cautious of what they do.
Consequently, this is why most parents are so strict on their children. However, if teens are more aware of their actions; they may end up with more freedoms.
Most teens exhilarated by the thought of freedom. Parents allow their kids to drive by themselves. This is a great freedom as long as teens don´t take advantage of it. Teens also grow up and have to live by themselves. Parents cringe at this thought, but teens can not live with their parents forever. If they don´t go out and live by themselves, they won´t ever learn how to provide for theirself.
