Personal Critical Incident

Improved Essays
For the purpose of this paper I am going to look at a personal critical incident that occurred the summer before the third year of my BSW. I received an email from my practicum liaison informing me that I had an interview secured for the following week in Ottawa. I took the day off of work and made the five-hour trip to Ottawa for my interview. The placement setting was a shelter for women and children experiencing domestic violence. The interview itself went well, and at the end my supervisor to-be clarified that I would be available for four days a week for four months. I stated that as a third year student I was expected to do two days a week over the course of the school year. I was informed that this particular agency only accepts fourth

To whom it may concern amongst Prometric Testing, I am writing in regards to Prometric Employee Deborah McLaughlin. Firstly, in regards to the termination of Monique Wallace; from the understanding of all other employees of sites 1826/7, Ms. Wallace was fired under the notion that she assisted and encouraged former temp employee Devon to steal time on days where he would show up late. Additionally, we understand that Monique was presumed to be having inappropriate relations with the employee in the site manager's office. These assumptions are extremely exaggerated, if not completely fabricated. In regards to the stealing time, Monique was unaware of this taking place when Devin was punching in his time and as a standing-manager-in-training had…

A blank can be defined in various ways. It can be defined as a situation, belief, or idea that reduces people to nothing more than inferior objects. I have been a blank space only a few times in my life. All of these experiences resulted in personal growth and maturity .Similar to the perceptions of condescending individuals who deemed minorities of African descent as inferior in Heart of Darkness and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. At Camp A, I was reduced from an individual to a caricature of an African American with amoral values because of faulty reasoning and stereotypes.…

Throughout my tenure as a courtesy clerk (bagger) at Kroger, I engaged in various acts of petty rebellion. However, in my final days employed there, I had moved from fruitless anger and focused it into an organized protest, one that had an impact on both myself and the store, if only for a day. Similar to the actions Smith took in The Loneliness of The Long-Distance Runner, by Alan Sillitoe, my behavior was one that resulted from a conflict between personal principles, and a hatred for arbitrary authority and abuse of position by “the man,” Smith and I hold the same philosophy, in essence, of power. ”If only ‘them’ and ‘us’ had the same ideas we’d get on like a house on fire,” (1205) the managerial staff of Kroger certainly had an “us versus…

Argumentative essay on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time The novel is described in the first-individual point of view by Christopher John Francis Boone, a 15-year-old kid who depicts himself as "a mathematician with some behavioral difficulties” living in Swindon, Wiltshire. Albeit Christopher's condition is not expressed, the book's blurb spot alludes to Asperger disorder, high-functioning autism, or intellectual disorder called savant syndrome. In July 2009, Haddon composed on his blog that "Inquisitive Incident is not a book about Asperger's....if anything it's a novel about distinction, about being an outcast, about seeing the world in an astonishing and uncovering way. The book is not particularly about a particular issue," and that he, Haddon, is not a specialist on extreme autism spectrum or Asperger disorder.…

Hello Everyone, One of the experiences I could recall of such an incident involves the kind of small business my dad runs. My father started up his own ambulate transportation coming, which provided non-emergency ambulate services to wheel chair patients of all kind, especially medicaid patients. However, before he became his own boss, he worked as an ambulate driver, for an organization that was caught and prosecuted for fraud. The issue was that the manager or the owner of the organization kept collecting medicaid payments of patients that were deceased, which was the most illegal and dishonest act one can do. However, the owner did this for many years, without getting caught, while earning millions of dollars from Medicaid, which was essentially…

I (Shonnell Todd); am providing the following personal written statement of incidents that I have witnessed within the DSS Human Capital Management Office from November 2014 to August 2015. I am a witness to and have first-hand knowledge of several accounts of personal attacks and degrading remarks directed towards Ms. LaShawn Kelley but Ms. Billie Johnston. During her 8 month employment with HCMO, Ms. Johnston; began making disparaging remarks about Ms. Kelley within her first 30 days with our organization. The first account was experienced at an after work gathering of a former employees Christmas party, Ms. Johnston made reference to Ms. Kelley’s personality as being conceited and full of herself. She then referenced the agency’s 2014 Christmas Party in which she stated that Ms. Kelley was dancing with other employee’s and “shaking her flat butt”.…
