Personal Connection Statement

The brain has always had me thinking about what really goes on "up in there." The brain is a very complex organ of the body. I have always wanted to know more and more about the brain. I would like to get in to the neurology field and get a good job when I grow up. I want to help people who have a neurological disorder, so they can receive better treatment that they need and desire. I want to change the field of neurology in many ways to better improve what is already know.

When I was about 10 years old my grandma could remember information very well. She was smart, funny and always smiling. Later, as time passed she began to frequently forget information quite often. This was not normal, and my family and I knew something was wrong. She went to the doctor to get check out, and was later diagnosed with Early Stage Dementia. She would forget a past event, where she is, and even something someone just told her. The only

I want to hopefully develop new treatments to help people with neurological disorder, explore new places they had never been to in the past. I want to go deeper into problems than ever before and develop new medicines to treat patients. Many people feel they are limited to what they can do. But with better treatment and care they won't feel as limited to what they are able to do. People with neurological disorders will be able to do more than ever before in the past. As technology continues to improve over time many doctors will be able to reach new heights. I see the future of neurology to be able to slow or stop brain cells from dying. Dopamine levels will not drop as bad as they do in some patients who suffer from Parkinson's. Last more will be known to better fully understand the cause of epilepsy.
