About a week ago my Rhetoric and Argumentation class was having in class debated where individual students walk to the front of the class one at a time to fight for their claim. One particular student walked up from the back of the class to give his view. As he walked towards the front more and more students realized this classmate had toilet paper tucked into his waist belt hanging down his rear. before he had the chance to turn around to face the class I quickly glanced around the classroom and saw almost all the class laughing to themselves and some even tapping their friends next to them and pointing it out. Like with the kitten student, as soon as he turned around everyone stopped laughing and gave no indication that something was wrong.…

I’ll never forget the moments of watching all my friends being able to go to the playground and enjoy themselves as I would have to walk to a different classroom to my ESOL class. ESOL was an English practicing class, it allowed for students that knew very few English and was a method for us to learn and practice our English. Towards the end of the class as we all headed back from recess, or in my case from ESOL I would have a short time to speak and talk to my friends, and they would always ask about my whereabouts. I would try to explain to them exactly where I was and what I would be doing, and I knew that they did not fully comprehend me, yet I still tried. As a child, I was a shy and awkward student who wore thick glasses and was often pushed to the side during social interactions. However, as I entered the sixth grade, I finally floated around to the different friend groups, yet I still didn’t feel connected with the people around me. Thus, I shared with a few friends my made-up hand motions which disguised explicit names towards a classmate that many, including myself, disliked. With each step, my guilt and resentment built up and I finally saw that I had become a grade-schooler’s worst nightmare – a bully.…
