The first time children learn the rules, they are probably at home or at school.
Family is very important part of life which can show the youngest member what are rules.
Sometimes it can be just clean your room or go to bed at the appointed time. The example from
school is to doing your homework. With these examples I can surely say that the rules are one of
the main themes of our lives. However, it is also good theme for many kinds of literature. We
can read about characters whose have their own code of conduct, which in many cases is similar
to your personal code of conduct. I found this similarity in the “Beowulf” poem which is about
a hero of the Geats who came to kill monster known as Grendel …show more content…
I want to find in my code of conduct
such an important values like courage and wisdom.
My grandmother used to say “do not be afraid”. After all these years I believe she is
right. Courage is one from the most desirable traits for humans because it helps us deal with
many things. Everybody can find inspiration in the “Beowulf” poem: “ Beowulf got ready, /
donned his war-gear, indifferent to death”(Raffel 1441-1442). I believe it is really good example
of courage. It means exactly the same what words of my grandmother. Do not be scared,
especially death. However, sometimes it does not look so easy because there will always be the
group of people who will wish you only the worst. I believe this quote teach us how to be
prepared for something unexpected or something that scares us. “Your piercing eye / will dim
and darken; and death will arrive, / dear warrior, to sweep you away”(Raffel 1759). No matter
what somebody say, every person should do not worry about somebody’s words. Courage is also
strength to do something what you want, regardless of the opinions of others. This is important
value for me because it makes many impossible situations
