I decided to coach the sixth through eighth-grade division alongside my father. Coaching helped me develop leadership, I learned that I’m a task-oriented leader as well as a person-oriented leader. A task-oriented leader is most interested in training, instructing behavior, performance and winning. A person-oriented leader is more interested in the interpersonal relationships on the team. I also learned that great leaders in and out sports are both tasks- and people-oriented, but lean more towards being task-oriented.…

Four years later I returned and have been going strong since. One could argue that my influence comes from a talk I had with my son Adrian when he was eight years old but I found that it was only an eye opener for something bigger.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…

After playing soccer for nearly my whole life and eventually playing competitively in high school, I have grown a passion for the sport. This is why I decided that I would take up coaching as a way to gain some experience in the world of sport management. Luckily, friend of mine asked me to help him as an assistant coach for the under-12 soccer team he was coaching in the Ormond Beach Soccer Club recreational department. I saw this is a great opportunity to gain some experience in coaching and see how the sport is played through the coach’s eyes rather than being the player or just merely a fan of the game. Ever since I started playing, I have always thought of what it would be like coaching others and teaching younger players some of the things…
