Personal Career Analysis: Software Developer The Bureau of Labor Statistics describe software developers as creative people that run computer programs and develop the programs onto devices such as cell phones, tablets, and computers. This career field is intriguing because technology is constantly growing around us every day. Cell phones and tablets was not a common trend years ago. The way we learn, educate others, and do our daily task is now base around computers. Upper classes like Computer Graphics and Computer Science and Information systems will help achieve the degree in computer science to become a software developer. Those upper division courses will be useful for this occupation choice because they both empathies on problem solving and the details you need to know about computer graphics. The basic knowledge that I would learn in beginning computer sciences or programing class will expand further and I will receive more hands on information that I would eventually use in the work force as a software developer. One high-impact practice that I would be possible be involved in at Austin Peay State University with this major is to seek work experience in the university computer lab, and find other volunteer opportunities. Doing that can help me to learn the how to work on computers very hands-on in real life situations. I would learn the problems of programing and the effects that some application have on students and the employer. Another high-impact is to seek general knowledge on computer language. Programing symbols and advance technology is not common to the average person and it is something that has to be learned over time in my undergraduate years.
