Personal Backstory Narrative

School has been the life support of my life. To understand why five days a week, seven hours a day has become such important thing in my life, my personal backstory is needed. Understanding my backstory will explain why I care about school itself, not just the classes, and why I try hard.
Since I was a young, I lived in a home where things were unsteady. At the age of six, my family moved into Kalispell, Montana, where my sister and I were being sexually abused at home. School was my getaway, my safe haven. Although, being bullied at school it was not as bad as at home.
In the middle of my first-grade year, we traveled to Kentucky to care for my grandma and I missed four months of school that year, but during that time the abuse stopped.

I once again had no friends and failed in my classes. The beginning of my sixth-grade year was one of the hardest times of my life. My mother was dating again and one of them got her to move to Blackfoot, Idaho. We moved around Thanksgiving time and I went to Blackfoot Sixth Grade Center for one week then we moved back to Montana. I did not go back to school until after Christmas break. During my seventh-grade year I moved in with another family and lived with them until I lived with my aunt and uncle the first time. I moved in with my aunt and uncle, who lived in Blackfoot, Idaho, the summer before my eighth-grade. I started to go to school at ISTCS then decided to move back in with my mother in Havre, Montana. I was hoping things would be different and safer to live with her, turns out I was wrong. I finished eighth-grade in Havre, then moved back to Blackfoot, once again to live with my aunt and uncle. I have lived in Blackfoot since.
At this time of my life, I started high school. My high school experience has been different than any experience I have had at schools. When I was a freshman I did marching band, through that I made friends and wasn’t alone on my first day of school. I slowly was getting involved in extracurricular activities, then over the next few years I really got involved with multiple activities. Being involved in BPA, band, NHS, art club, and student council all has its own beneficial factors. Being involved in one would have not have happened without the others. Starting with art club and band these gave me the chance to experience being involved, which lead to BPA and NHS. Through BPA I learned leadership,
