I study everyday during my study hall hours, as well as after school doing my homework, to turn assignments in earlier than the deadline. My whole family has inspired me to pursue my college education because they are constantly telling me stories about their teenage years. They have said that they wanted to go places and make differences but they ended up creating a family early in their lives instead. I have selected to do a double major in both chemistry and criminology because during my junior year my instructor, Mr. Hank Starr, in my Honors Chemistry class inspired my love for chemistry. He is very energetic and enthusiastic about teaching, he has so much love for science, so much that he passed it down to me as well. I found my love in criminology from my legal system class, instructed by Ms. Varissa DeHoyos. She used to be a police woman before she became a …show more content…

I was born in San Jose, California and my family moved to Ohio, the heartland of America, soon after. I remember always peering through the window by the stairs as the snow fell then sledding down the snowy driveway with glee. During my childhood, I spent a year in China experiencing my cultural roots. My family then moved to Los Angeles where I have spent nearly thirteen years of my life exposed to a blend of different cultures and communities. The diversity encourages me to stay true to my background and enjoy standing out rather than fitting in.…

It has always been something that I need to figure out, and I am still figuring it out to this day. I suppose that an ordinary autobiography would began with a date of birth. Regretfully, I do not know of the time which I was born. I, like many other slaves, was not afforded the privilege of such knowledge. Not because our masters did not want to tell us, I’m pretty sure that they were not aware of it either, no, if anything, having the knowledge of when their slaves were born was most likely considered blasphemy to them, but I digress. I was born in Talbot County, Maryland, and my mother is Harriet Bailey. Unfortunately, I never really knew her very well seeing as how we separated at birth. Separated at birth is a common practice used by slave owners to severe the parental bond of mother and child. Shortly after I turned seven,…

My mother, along with her entire family, was born in Honduras and moved to the United States when she was a teen. Living in the U.S for so long didn’t change my mother much, she continued to be adamant on traditions of her country; however, on the other hand me and my siblings live a fairly normal American life, or so I thought.…
