Explain the Personal Attributes Valued by Employers
Section 1:
Personal attributes needed in ICT Employment, the three that I have chosen to do is leadership, respect and planning and organisation skills.
Respect
Having admiration for someone and their achievements and not judging them on their appearance and what colour or gender the person is defines respect. In addition you look up to them and aim to be as good as or better than that person. Respect is crucial in the workplace because when working with other members you need to be able to get along and respect that they might have other work to do. In addition they might have personal issues which are causing them to not concentrate and so you should respect them and not have a go at them

Respect also plays an important role when it comes to women as many people are sexist against female because they believe that they are not as capable of completing the work but really they are just as able as men to do any job and as a result people shouldn’t be biased towards women because they could be part of your group and you should offer them the same opportunities as the male members of the group get. In addition it is important that you don’t treat them any differently and respect their views because they are just as important. Furthermore in the workplace you should also have respect for people from different countries, this is because if you don’t respect them then this could be seen as racist as you shouldn’t treat another coloured person differently to the way you treat your own coloured employees. If you treat them differently this can be highly offensive and if you don’t give them a chance because of what they look …show more content…
Leadership is valued by employers within the ICT industry because they will require someone who can delegate responsibilities, but also that will be able to complete a task by the deadline whether it is on your own or if it can be done quicker working as a team. Additionally they will require leadership to ensure that the work produced is of high standard which would not happen if there wasn’t a leader as people would be working in chaos. Leadership qualities help a company because a potential leader must be motivated so that they can inspire their workers and also to ensure that they get the work done. In addition it’s important that the leader can ensure deadlines are met, for example the leader of a group working to design a website will need to check that each member of the group is doing the work they are supposed to ensure that it gets finished on time. Linking to this the leader should review his group member’s work and inform them of how they can improve it to make it of a higher standard. A leader needs to be effective at time management because they need to be able to inform the people they are leading on when they begin working on the task and also when it must be completed ready for a client to see the finished

From someone not under the responsibility of a leadership role, it may seem like a wonderful job, since they can escape from the usual workload that a non-leader has to put up with, and have authority over others. Yet, they tend to overlook the amount of dedication and self-evaluation that a leader has to go through in order for their group to succeed. One must better and uphold themselves to a high standard in order to be an efficient leader, and not for power alone. They must have a wide knowledge of their position and patience to help others in case an issue or situation arises. When things go wrong, the leader, not the group, is blamed, and often is the one that pays for the consequences that their peers have done under their watch.…
