Celebrities, in whatever guise, appear to lead very glamorous and exciting lives full of dazzling red carpet events and exotic travel. However, the reality can be way less glitzy and thrilling; endless probing media interviews, travel to far distant locations at a moment’s notice coupled with hair and make-up appointments, regular work-outs and late nights, all whilst attempting to appear professional and flawless, do take their toll. • Your main duty is to look after your employer and make sure they are safe and happy. You may have to retrieve them from tricky situations at times and this will require a high level of tact and quick thinking on occasion.
• Above all else you will need to be trustworthy – your phone could be filled with celebrity numbers and you may be rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous but discretion will be the key. Most celebrity PAs will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement before commencing employment but even without this formal contract, you will be expected to be discrete and non-judgmental at all times.
If all of these requirements and conditions really don’t phase you and you actually do have the necessary organisational skills, the patience of a saint, a thick skin and the ability to remain in the background this could be just the job for you.
