Person-Job fit is important to staffing companies such as Adecco, Trojan Labor, and Kelly Services. These companies focus more on matching the client with the most compatible position based on the client wants and needs. For instance, a man came into Kelly Services looking for a warehouse position that pays $15 per hour, has health benefits, and vacation pay, but he can't work on Sundays due to his religious beliefs. Kelly Services would be able to place him in a warehouse position based on his preference as long as he meets the requirements of the employer. In football, each player has an individual job; however, the players have to work together in order to successfully complete the task. Football just wouldn’t be football if one man tried to do everyone else's job and it wouldn’t be fun to watch one man running down the field holding a ball in his

As a collaborator, my strengths were that I made sure that everything got done on time and that it was done right. My weaknesses were that I didn’t really talk to my group as much as I should have and I kind of didn’t put responsibility on anyone but myself. This is probably not good, but I don’t feel like I can trust groups because a lot of the time people don’t do what they’re supposed to.…

Such standard human resource practices have been produced by various scholars and include factors such as higher compensation, self-managing teams, continuous training to improve employee skill and morale and organisational information sharing. One major dampener of this approach is that there is no universally accepted best practice that would work effectively across all organisations especially considering the diverse organisational cultures and management styles (Boxall and Purcell, 2011). The best fit approach ascribes to the concept that human resource strategies should be dependent on the context and circumstances surrounding an organisation at a particular time. The approach is viewed in terms of vertical alignment between the firm’s business strategy and its human resource masterplan.…
