She was forced to become a refugee. (STEWE-2) When Najmah found her mother and brother, she was still for a very long time. “I sit in the dirt beside them quietly, not crying, and not even aware that I am breathing”(Staples 83).Najmah had lost her father, Baba-Jan, and other brother, Nur, to the Taliban and when she lost her mother and brother too, she couldn’t face her losses. In the research to follow up PTSD, the video mentioned the feelings people with this sickness would have. “Individuals with PTSD may lose interest not only in the things that they used to enjoy doing but with life as a whole”(“PTSD Symptoms and Signs”). These two details are connected because Najmah also mentioned that she wouldn't care if the Taliban found her and killed her(Staples 83). Although this happened directly after the event itself, the feelings that she had in these moments made it seem like she lost interest with her life as a whole. (SIP-B) Women, not only in refugee camps, but in villages were treated horribly by resistance factions, like the Taliban. These children and women were suffering terribly, just as real life refugees are, and because they are suffering without food, they are weak. “The weak, elderly, children and women are vulnerable to attacks within the camps”(Lantero).
