Persevere Research Paper

Decent Essays
My word for 2017 is Perseverance. I choose this word because I have to Persevere through all the homework and other things I do. Like when I have a school assignment and I don’t want to do the assignment I have to Persevere through it and finish it anyway. Also when I don’t want to get up in the mornings I have to Persevere and get up anyway. When I have swim team practice over the summer and we have to do 25 100 in a row I have to persevere through it and finish them up. Also in a swim meet, when I am swimming the 100 and I am on the last lap even though it hurts make myself go even faster than what I normally can and I have to Persevere through the pain. When I am super nervous about something I have to Persevere and do that something anyway.

Dare, A Regretful Education Have you ever wondered how the D.A.R.E. program worked in the United States? Well I can tell you this, if an officer that is involved with the D.A.R.E. program is trying to show you the impact of a substance, then why do you see them doing that same substance while off duty? They are either smoking a cigarette or guzzling booze until they are downright wasted, if this is the kind of inspiration that helps you stay away from substances, well it’d work better than what you’re learning from D.A.R.E. A multitude of people believe the D.A.R.E. program should be replaced with a different program that provides a new/better way to fight substance abuse, others believe D.A.R.E. should be able to help in the education…

While the child doesn 't not spend an absurd amount of time in physical pain, his or her active mind is in agony due to boredom. In my opinion, pain can have many different forms, meaning perseverance can be practiced in a multitude of ways. One of which could be my…

As discussed in verse seventy-seven of this verse, the Hindu custom of satī, practiced in the bygone era, entailed the act of self-immolation by a chaste and virtuous wife on her husband’s funeral pyre. Using this custom as a reference point, this verse criticises those who pretend to be true lovers, but in reality, do not harbour true love for the Beloved and fail to be consumed in the fire of love of the Beloved. In Hinduism, the term satī refers to a chaste, virtuous and faithful wife, who engages in self-immolation on her dead husband’s funeral pyre. The actual act of self-immolation is also known as satī.…

The people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered peculiar by people both within the church and non-members. This may be for different reasons but I think most people can tell that those of the LDS faith are unlike most other people in this world. This can be for many things, but I think a big part of it is the Word of Wisdom. So my question is, “Is the Word of Wisdom essential for the members of the LDS faith?” As the world and society continue to change, many things are becoming socially acceptable and not as taboo as they once were.…
