It started when I was young, that I wanted to be within the video game industry. With that in mind, the game industry is a fun and exciting place to be in. To overcome each bump along the straight narrow road, I had to learn from the best. My professional that I decided upon was Chris Lena, a person who works on a Massively Multiplayer Online game (which stands for MMO) called Ever Quest. The perseverance that Chris Lena had to deal with when making the MMO was crucial since it was the first of its kind. With that in mind, Chris Lena had to think of a way to make sure that “permanent ways you can get people to connect” was available through the game (Hayot, 2009). With that in mind he had to think of ways to “make it easier” for individual players to group up with people in game and do quests together (Hayot, 2009). He was able to fix this problem by adding a grouping system within the game that allows you to add individual players into the group. This allows you to get each individual player to go to your location instantly, and join in on that dungeon run you are in. While “76%” of games “are currently using C++” I have to be ready to be more flexible through developing the game (Staff, 2008). I will have to know when I might be working with people who are outsourced in the company that I am working for. I might even be one of the people that will be from outsourcing. I will need to learn to persevere through this and think of new and interesting ways to accomplish the goals in front of me.
