Her fiancé describes her in her book as ‘the indomitable spirit of a human being’ and my view is , not a truer word can be spoken. Turia is easily one of the most inspiring people I have ever read about and her capacity to maintain her positivity throughout this time with statements such as ‘I feel like the luckiest girl in the world’, is nothing short of extraordinary (Pitt, 2013). Although Henley’s poem and Turia’s book are both about perseverance, Turia’s book is an incredible inspirational tool for anyone facing adversity. She shares her story in such a way, so others, including myself can gain motivation and learn that it is a strong heart, attitude and mindset (perseverance) that is the key to moving

This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…
