Survival of the fittest, survival is what we humans try our hardest at. Perseverance is what it takes to survive. In the novels Night and Sold they deal with perseverance leading to survival. There are two main characters in these novels Elie and Lakshmi and they both survive in different situations. By examining novels Night and Sold we can see that perseverance is the key to survival, which is more important because often times people who don’t have perseverance don’t know how to keep going even in the hardest of times. In the novel Sold a character named Lakshmi lives through what is called the “Happiness House” and when Lakshmi arrives at the Happiness House, in reality a brothel she realizes what she had actually been sold to do. she
