In Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood”, two men, Dick and Perry, have just arrived home from brutally murdering a happy family in Holcomb, Kansas, the Clutters. It’s evident that these men know what they are doing, they’ve had plenty of experience in crimes like this. Once Dick and Perry get back from their eventful road trip, they both seem to know exactly how to handle anything that could get them into trouble. Upon arriving at a hotel room, Perry immediately took off his bloody boots in order to clean off the evidence. It seems almost routine to him, like an everyday chore.
