Although this thesis is still being revised, it states: Dario Fo had political and social triggers that led him down the path to creating a more modern—and revolutionary—giullare storytelling style that is comprehensible to masses around the world. I chose my focus(es) for multiple reasons. The first is that I need to understand why he revised biblical stories and, specifically, “Mary Under the Cross”. I believe if I understand why he chose it politically and socially, I can connect to it as well and create a better final product. Additionally, it is essential that I comprehend how it was revised by Fo and—hopefully—it will be helpful to my work on the scene.…

I am aware that it is difficult to accept challenges that make us step out of the comfort zone we are accustomed to, but that is where the support comes in. The beauty of having a church community that offers their assistance in a variety of ways. Whether it is spiritually, emotionally, or physically; they are chosen to guide, challenge, and listen to those whom want to be a better person. This reading made me remember how selfish I used to be and how glad I am to not be that person anymore. The amount of time Pastors invest to aid us is under appreciated.…
You see, I had been in Kiera’s position not so long ago. I knew what it felt like to be told I wasn’t good enough, that because of my past God couldn’t use me, especially not in a ministry setting. All it took was one person to pour truth and words of affirmation into me for me to realize the plans the Lord had for me. I wanted so badly for Kiera to hear this message and I knew by the end of the week that she had. Kiera’s entire demeanor had changed and she was beginning to throw away her fears.…

Do You Remember Birmingham? Most every adult in America has heard of Dr. King's "I have a dream" speech. Granted, most have never hear more than that line and don't really know much else about the speech, the ministry, or the man. After attending the sit down discussion with Sarah Bessey, I realized how much a writer can benefit from his or her own writing. Sarah explains that when she writes, it helps her understand theology in more depth. She has reached out to millions of people through her book, “Jesus Feminist”. In this book, she makes the argument for women’s importance in the church. When the interviewer asked her how she becomes inspired, she simply stated that her inspiration comes with her continual journey with Jesus.…
Through Mariam's self-sacrifice, she was able to help Laila escape the life of mistreatment and submission. By giving herself up it also sets an example as to why this passage greatly illustrates Mariams defining moment whether through her actions or the deeper meaning behind her words. In the novel A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaleo Hosseini, Mariam displays herself as an altruistic person showing an illustration of her defining moment by giving herself up for the betterment of Laila and her family. Laila and Mariam could only take so much; with a fail of an attempt to escape Rasheed.…
She stated that she actually did not want to come today because she feels like a failure, but she was reading the bible and got inspired to do better for herself and came to the meeting.
