The yearly annual trainings are to be conducted to update foster parents on fire safety, managing adolescents, post-traumatic stress disorder and adjustment disorder, and to have a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and Allied (LGBTQQA) affirming home. These trainings change throughout the year because new topics arise when the focus is on children.
Permanency planning set for everyone which include case planner, foster parent (s), biological parent(s) and evening children which changes every 6 months. As child and parent(s) first goal is to return to parent. That goal can have minor and major changes every 6 months during the permanency planning and during the permanency hearing family court will deem if the goal is in the best interest of the child. Some cases goal change is just updated every 6 months and have families come into the agency for the purpose of Family Court permanency hearings. While the child is in foster care, the foster parent(s) receive home visit by the case planner to make sure the home is still suitable for the child/children who live in that foster home. If the foster home is in violation of safety or pose a danger to the child/children will be removed and place in another foster home.
