Periodontal regeneration surgery is often needed in order to save teeth that have been badly damaged by periodontal disease. After the surgery, it is common to experience a heavy amount of bleeding. The bleeding can last for a few days and can make it difficult to talk and eat immediately after surgery. If you keep the surgical area covered the bleeding should eventually stop on its own within the next few days. However, if your bleeding is a bit heavy this can be extremely uncomfortable. Luckily, there are a few tips that you can use to reduce the bleeding.
