In 1968, the International Olympic Committee tested all athletes in the olympics for performance enhancing drugs to help keep the it fair between the athletes. In the first olympics played, performance enhancing drugs were being used by the Greeks to help them win. Major league baseball, one of the major companies trying to change it, banned steroids (a PED) in 1991 as a way to keep the players equal.
