Please consider this letter of intent, resume and video submission for a Performance Apprenticeship position at the Lake Dillon Theatre Company. I’m Ariel Kurtz and I am a junior at SUNY Empire State College studying Musical Theatre and Theatre Education in Manhattan. My mission in life is to change the world through art and make art accessible to everyone. I am available for the full availability for the duration of the Performance Apprenticeship. I’m interested in the Performance Apprenticeship so I can learn about what a professional Musical Theatre environment is like and to learn jobs in the theatre so I can be a well-rounded theatre artist.

It is with great pleasure that I submit an application for the Marketing Growth Analyst position offered by Ampush. I learned about Ampush from personal research and became interested in your company’s unique approach to marketing strategy and campaigns. When I first learned of Ampush, I was immediately taken by your mission to cater an individual advertising experience for each one of your company partners rather than trying to find a one-size-fits-all strategy for every single project. Ampush’s focus on instead developing strategies that target the individual needs of each project resonates strongly with my experiences in the arts at Williams. With each theatrical production I worked on, I was encouraged to analyze and understand the show…

My mother first introduced me to the idea of Wagner, raving about its theatre program, arguing I was a perfect fit. Growing up less than an hour from Boston, I slightly tasted city life throughout my childhood; yet always wanted to be a part of something bigger than a middle class town. Wagner’s location blends NYC life with my hometown environment, appealing to both sides of my personality. Further influenced my by mother’s review, I began researching Wagner’s website, where I discovered the Port Richmond Partnership. I grew up doing community service with my father at soccer fields on Saturday mornings, and I strive to combine volunteering with theatre.…

“The Laramie Project” as Community Based Art Is the “Laramie Project” community based art(CBA)? Well, on the surface, the “Laramie Project,” a play that consists of dialogue taken directly from community interview, seems like CBA: it contains community and art elements. Dear Treehouse Board of Directors and to whomever else it might concern. Before I begin, I would like to give the assembled group of individuals a great round of applause. I thank you for the dedication and effort each of you has personally put into this theater to insure it’s survival for a great number of years. As a former student performing member of Treehouse Theaters JTF performing team, I wish to bring to the attention of the board an issue that I have personally been concerned about every year within the team: the lack of student commitment concerning rehearsal attendance. I would like to propose that a policy be implemented that if a student auditions for the JTF performing team with more than eight hours conflicting with the already…

Though I am grateful for my midwestern upbringing, I cannot deny the pushes and pulls of the heritage that propels me to look beyond Milwaukee. Every year my family has two Thanksgivings. We have, what you could call, the “traditional” American Thanksgiving then we do it all again the “Dominican way”. This tradition is something that represents both parts of my ethnicity really well. My mother is from the west coast and was brought up in a very traditional European manner.…

Ever since I was a young child, I have always dreamed of singing in an opera. I have always imagined being on a stage, looking out into the audience and smiling as the tenor notes soar out of my mouth and into the ears of my listeners. Perhaps you’re thinking of joining a theatre crew. You spent much of your childhood attending plays while getting captivated by the fantasy being brought to life before your very eyes and now you want to become part of it. While it is true that most who are in the theatre did join for this very reason, there are some points where the similarities of watching and participating detour into major differences. I preface this with a brief glimpse into my background. First off, I was not an actor.…
