Perfect Mate Essay “You can start dating when you’re eighty years old, Kaitlyn”, a famous quote from my mom. She is now realizing that I am getting older and I am in the teenage dating stage. She still thinks I am a bit too young, but she is okay with it. I asked my mom and step-dad what they thought I would look for in a significant other and what they'd want me to have in a significant other. I think that they had a pretty good estimate of what I'd want! My mom had a pretty good guess of what I wanted in a significant other. She said “I think Kaitlyn would pick someone that has good values, that’s honest and funny. Someone that is sincere, not fake”. Those are mostly accurate. She said if she had to pick someone for me, “I would choose …show more content…
I said I would need someone athletic, caring, understanding, humorous, honest, adventurous, confident, protective, sweet, respectful, can be sarcastic at times, and someone that is good with kids and animals. I think the most important trait that I’d look for is that they are confident. I would want someone that is comfortable with what they are doing and confident in themselves. It is not a dealbreaker, but I like when guys are confident in themselves. Not cocky, but are easy going. I would also want someone that is adventurous because I like to travel and try new things. I want to go to new places, try new foods, see the unseen. The dealbreaker would be if they were dishonest. I do not want a relationship full of deception. I would rather have the straight-up truth than being lied to.
My parents are completely different people and I respect their choices they have made for me. My mom was right about the honesty part, (I found that out the hard way). I learned that even with a short list, there is no such thing as a perfect mate. No one is perfect and I don't think there is one perfect person in the universe. People should not be picky because one person could come along and change your life

Mendoza the Jew and Religious Tolerance Religious prosecution against Jews was prevalent all throughout European history. The story of Daniel Mendoza in Schechter and Clarke’s graphic history novel Mendoza the Jew perfectly embodies religious prosecution in eighteenth century England. Daniel Mendoza, an 18th century Jewish boxer, fought a battle in and out of the ring against religious prosecution in late 1700’s England. Being born into a deeply religious Jewish family Daniel learned the importance of his faith from a young age, and stood up for it his entire life. Although Jews like Daniel had the opportunity to improve their social and economic positions many Englishmen were not tolerant of people of the Jewish belief.…

There’s no doubt that everywhere you go, you are being judged. By the people around you, the animals, even microscopic organisms judge you (not kidding). For instance, many times I get judged by my own mom about my hair, my shoes, and the fact that I love cheeseburgers since it’s said to cause acne; although, I don’t really care for those statements about how I look, because if you really want to know someone or make good friends, you look past looks, and you judge people by personality. Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole world was like that? That is the truth, the whole truth, the unvanquished truth is how Freak would say it.…
