It’s that day of the week, the dreaded “wash day”. That day where you spend hours toiling away and battling your hair. I know that day all too well. You ask yourself, “How am I going to style my hair? Braid out? Twist Out? Bun? Wash and go? Blow out? What products am I going to use? Protein treatments? Deep conditioners? Cowash?” The possibilities are endless. Then you find yourself thinking, “Do I even want to do this? I really don’t want to do this. Help. Most styles I attempted were dreadful. No matter how I practiced, how many online tutorials I analyzed, and how many styles I attempted, I would always fail.
But everything changed when I discovered the wonderful world of roller setting. Suddenly, I was in control. After a few months of trial and error, I was able to achieve a roller set that complimented my personality and style. With these three tips, you’ll be well on your way to mastering your own unique roller set too:
1) Find Your Perfect Fit
Rollers come in all shapes, sizes and brands. Some naturalistas will recommend foam rollers, while others recommend magnetic rollers. Personally, I get the best results using snap on rollers. The next step in finding your perfect rollers is deciding what type of curl you want. Smaller rollers produce tight ringlets while larger rollers produce body waves. Me? I’m a full and curly type of girl, so I use medium sized rollers. Also consider the length of your hair. Short rollers work well for short and long hair. Meanwhile, larger rollers provide the best results when used on medium to long
