My perfect day would start out with me waking up at 9 o'clock am. Beside my extra soft king size bed would be a massive plate of; eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, huge cinnamon roll, with a glass of milk and apple juice. While I’m eating I will watch NBA and college basketball games. By about 12 o'clock I will be done eating and watching basketball. I crawl out of bed and take a nice long refreshing shower. As I finish showering and on my Miami Heat apparel and Jordan basketball shoes and head out the door of my 69 room ginormous house at about 1 o'clock. I get into my 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 and head to my very own restaurant and get; pizza, hamburgers, tacos. When I get done stuffing all the food into my face

When we take the time to observe our community and realize the effects of our actions, there is a greater chance people will take action to improve the problem of overconsumption; which is why the Buy Nothing Day is important. It would help spread awareness of the negative effects of overconsumption on working conditions. Due to the high demand for numerous products, companies become more concerned for quick production of goods at low costs, and less concerned for working conditions. This is especially evident in U.S. companies abroad where cheaper labor is available. Foreign workers, working for Nike, Gap, or other American companies, face overbearing pressure to produce large quantities of clothes, shoes, and other products in a short…

Last year when I was in 8th Grade and before I moved to a public school, I had a few Groundhog Days. I was at the private school “Peniel Baptist Academy.” That private school was very sheltered and every time that you did ANYTHING wrong they would punish you severely. The school was a very religious and a “holy” place. We would always have chapel on Wednesdays and if you came not dressed in your “church clothes” they would lecture you about how it is “unGodly” and how you are severely disrespecting him.…

Although 'The Yellow Wallpaper” and “A Great Day” may not be considered 'contemporary' they still alert the reader to social problems that are still relevant in today’s modern world. In 'The Yellow Wallpaper' (Charlotte Perkins Gilman) Jane faces the social problem of what it feels like to not meet her society’s expectations of femininity. In “A Great Day” Fred faces the social problem of what it feels like, again to not meet the expectations of masculinity in his society.…

As humans, we tend to be massive consumers, we buy anything that we can buy and sell anything that we can sell. Money is our master while the people are its slaves, we listen to what the markets have to say and follow what everyone buys. This is something that people who don’t support the “Buy Nothing Day” would say. Buy nothing day is a day where people literally buy nothing to cause awareness of excessive consumerism. But in all honesty people need to see the good in things, and the good of consumerism is that there is a smaller gap between the poor and the wealthy, people only buy things because they need to, and finally it helps the growth of the economy.…

In the words of Ronald Reagan, one of the most respected US Presidents: “Republicans believe that every day is the fourth of July, but the democrats believe that every day is April 15”. This statement made by him implies that he believes that Republican conservatives believe that every day is the 4th of July which is the celebration of our independence, and Democrats believe that every day is tax day, which is a day where the government can come and seize your property. On that note, I am arguing the fact that we need a republican president to serve the next term. This topic is important because it shows the kind of image that the next president should portray and the mark he or she should leave for the next generation. Our last president…

I even went to the gym with my mom and sister to keep myself distracted which that was a good two-hour workout. As a person that just uses your phone 24/7, you don’t realize what is around you.…
