Does Percy Jackson have ADHD?

A typical FAQ that people ask about the novel Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief is does our protagonist have ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). Percy Jackson was a fictional series written by Rick Riordan, the same author for “The Red Pyramid”. The main characters of the story are Percy (son of Poseidon the sea god), Annabeth (daughter of Athena the wisdom goddess), grover (a satyr who wants to be a searcher. My claim is that Percy Jackson does not have ADHD but however has dyslexia. The reason I infer this is because Percy does not act or sound like he has ADHD, the only reason he might be like this is because he just has a hard time staying organized.

In the book it states “... a dyslexic, hyperactive boy”. This shows that Percy has dyslexia. I infer one of most reasons that Percy may be mistaken of having ADHD is his dyslexia. When Percy reads a sign in chapter 11 he sees “ATNYU MES GDERAN GOMEN MEPROLIM” which is really Aunty Em’s Garden Gnome Emporium. Although it said Percy is hyperactive this comes into effect only when he feels a serge or strength when consuming or pouring water on himself. In the story every time he is in water he feels stronger or more

Even though, reduce attention, intensified hyperactivity and impulsivity are the main attributes of ADHD, some patients may have difficulty with one of the behaviors. However, some people may have issues with inattentiveness and distractibility unlike the patients with ADHD; these conducts occur more often with increased severity, thereby changing the way they function in school, job and the community at large (Sadock, Sadock, & Ruiz, 2014).…
