Percy Jackson A Hero Essay

I have a strong belief that Percey Jackson from the movie is a better and more relatable Perseus. An interesting fact, Percy Jackson is a little more selfless. Which a hero has a right to be. Also, due to the settings being in modern times it helps making him more relatable. It also makes it feel like he has more of a social life. In Perseus the text never states that he hangs out with his friends which leads to my assumption that he just hangs out with his mom a.k.a. a mama's boy. Now that it’s pretty obvious, Percy is a better Perseus because he has the right amount of selflessness, is more relatable, and has more of a social life.

In “Percy Jackson the Lightning thief,” Percy takes on and transforms the legend Perseus to return the bolt that he didn’t steal. One way he transforms the legend is by being a little more selfless. First of all, Percy he is only out to save his mom; in return for his friends helping him he is going to meet the gods to tell them that he didn’t steal the Lightning bolt (Columbus Percy Jackson). A great example is, the original story never tells us what Perseus does on his free time(D`Aulare). In the movie Percy hangs out with his friends on his free time(Columbus Percy Jackson). In the same way, it seems like in the original story that Percy just spends time with his mom and not out playing(D`Aulare). So, that kinds makes him mama's boy, not that there’s anything wrong with that but you’d would think he would want to play with the other kids.
