Like Perchik, I believe learning different cultures and watching the news can strengthen the connection between countries. An example is when watching the news, I was able to hear about the Nepal earthquake. My friend is from Nepal and so she was deeply affected by it. My friends and I had the chance to create a fundraiser to raise money for Nepal. If I didn't watch the news or wasn't connected to the outside world, I wouldn't have known about the earthquake and wouldn't have been able to help. Another characteristic Perchik and I have in common is we both believe that everyone should have a say in what will happen in their future. Perchik believes that Tzeital should marry someone she loves and not someone she is force to. He believed that all the fighting over Tevye letting Tzeital marry someone she loves was "all nonsense" because "Tzeital wanted to marry Motel and not Lazar" (pg.97). I do believe what happens in my future is my decision. The other similarity Perchik and I both have is we believe that life isn't like a wish granting factory. To Perchik, the world isn't going to hand you something, you must work hard for what you
