These primary sources that the author Charles Orr included was to provide a better understanding on how it was like during the Pequot War with the experiences that were being used to this monograph. Sources of the accounts of the leaders provides a much more in-depth imagery created in the readers mind since it shows detail to detail what they were accomplishing during the Pequot War which was in the 1600s. He used a rare account which is Vincent’s only found in the Library of Harvard University and the rest were self-published of their accounts. These real personal documents are well used by the author to support his argument. The author uses very simple language in readers understanding but the written documents are filled with jargon, since it was written in the 1600s and the language back then was different compared to today’s modern English language. The accounts use several hard-complex vocabulary words which would be difficult for the accounts be understand. Throughout the novel the author is impartial, Charles Orr is not biased in any sort of way.
