CORPORATE STRATEGY
There are three types of strategies use by organization which are corporate strategy, competitive strategy, and functional strategy. Top level managers are responsible for corporate strategy, middle level managers are responsible for competitive strategy and lower level managers are responsible for functional strategy. Here we will discuss what is cooperate strategy.
A corporate strategy is the direction an organization takes with the objectives of achieving business success in the long term. It determines that in what businesses company wants to be in and what to do with those businesses. There are two types of diversification which are related and unrelated diversification. A related diversification is when a company expands its business by introducing a new product but relating with existing product. A unrelated diversification is when a company expand its business by introducing a new product but not relating with existing product.
Stability strategy is the strategy in which company going through same objectives, serves the same market with same product and does not want to expand its business. A company adopt this strategy to maintain its current position and to focuses only on current objectives of the company. After adopting this strategy, company does not grow as well as destroy.
Renewal strategy is response to a problems faced by organization. It is adopted when company faced serious problems and going through with financial issues. This strategy helps organization to rebuild their firm’s operations and to compete once again in market. There are two types of renewal strategy which are retrenchment strategy and turnaround strategy. A retrenchment strategy is used when company is facing minor problems. And a turnaround strategy is used when company is facing huge problems. In both cases company’s need to reduce cost and rebuild organizational structure.
