Pep Club Research Paper

Have you ever walked up to someone and you knew they were just talking about you? Have you ever had it happen 50 times in a row? Well, I did; last March, after I had said something I couldn’t take back. Our boy’s basketball team for TCHS had won the district tournament and was then in the region tournament. If they won two more games, they would have been going to state. At the game against Bethlehem, there was no pep club for their side, and so our Pep Club was hardly saying anything and when they would do any type of cheer/chant, it would be a very negative chant and would often times be a form of making fun of someone or just being rude to them. According to them, they were the “best student section in the entire state.” However, we had different opinions on that subject. After their fifth time saying “You boy, you boy, you, you, you,” (The cheer they say when a player on the opposing team makes a mistake/has a foul) I was starting to get annoyed. After winning that game 75-50, I made the decision to tweet something that no one in my high school would seem to ever forget. Typing quickly and not giving any second thoughts, I tweeted, “Idk why the pep club acts like they’re so great, I mean I didn’t hear them at all. They …show more content…
I believe that was the best I had ever seen our student section. The only rude thing the pep club did to me, was during a quarter when we ran out and do stunts and a cheer, they turned their backs on me. They were loud and very excited to be there. Every game since then has been just as excited and just as loud as that game, I like to tell myself that it was me that gave our school so much spirit. It took me six months to convince Jack to let me back into pep club for my sophomore year of high school. Actually to tell you the truth, he’s a pretty cool and nice guy if you get to know him. So, I guess it’s true, don’t judge a book by it’s

The National Honor Society is an organization that acknowledges and congratulates students with high educational standings and certain characteristics. NHS looks for people with traits such as leadership, people who are outgoing in their community, and people with a great quality of character. If I am selected to be in this group, I would contribute to the growth of NHS by spreading information about what NHS is to other students and teachers. Before I got this application, I didn’t even know what NHS was and what you do once you are in it. I want other people to know the importance of this group and how it can look good not just for when you apply to colleges, but to yourself as well.…

Community is important to me. I grew up in a small town where you knew your neighbors, and chances were that you lived down the street from at least one of your teachers. Where every summer Saturday, the entire block would meet in somebody’s backyard- a fire would be lit, and all of us kids would roast marshmallows and hotdogs, and play on the wooden swing-set, playing out stories and adventures. My community wasn’t just a place where I lived and went to school- it was a family.…

The executive board gives me more responsibility than being on the regular council and I have been able to learn much more. If there was one thing I was used to by now, it was that whenever something didn’t go well for me on the baseball field, the future holds green pastures only if I go looking for it. So sure enough, after that loss, I set my eyes ahead to the next season. That final season we had a great start, winning a lot of games, but we ended up barely making the playoff as somewhat of an underdog. We didn’t think about anything that was at stake, we simply played our game all the way to the championship game without a loss in the playoffs. We won the first game of he series and were winning for the majority of the second game.…
