Pepón Osorio's Ultra-Baroque Methods

In the basement of Temple University’s Tyler School of Art is where Pepón Osorio’s

installation reForm is located. The installation reForm is in lieu of the Fairhill Elementary

School in North Philadelphia. This installation was to show viewers how Philadelphia’s budget

cuts can greatly affect children and their education if school were to be forced to close. Pepón

Osorio makes a very powerful representation of the issues of school budget cuts that arise via

Fairhill Elementary.

Osorio is known for his ultra-baroque methods when creating his works of art. By using

this method, he gathers things such as simple items like plastic toys or merchandise that says,

“Made in China” and creates a meaningful “collage-like” exhibit. Osorio
