People pretend to be different than who they are just so they can fit in, or try to change themselves because they don’t like the real them. A quote by Theodore Geisel says, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.” Mr. Geisel makes a very good point about how you should be you, and that you shouldn’t let anyone change who you are.
Everyone comes from different backgrounds and has different stories, but that shouldn’t stop you from being exactly who you are. Mr. Geisel’s quote is a perfect example of how we should be the real us. As I asked one of my friends what her thoughts were she said, “Be yourself no matter who you are, because those who are close to you shouldn’t judge you and those who do judge you have no place too”(Moss). I believe what my friend meant by this is that if you have a friend and they judge you, are they really your friends? You shouldn’t let anyone judge you for the real you.
